  • Every Child Can! (ECC) is an introduction to Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy and its application to Suzuki education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers, and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning.

    Every Child Can! is an 8 hour course. This course must be offered over two (2) days. GWSI will offer this course virtually through zoom on June 20-21, 2025 from 4-8 pm.
  • Course must be offered over a minimum of 8 days. Minimum of 28 hours of class time (lecture and
    demonstration), to include a suggested 2 hours of guided observation and discussion of
    the Trainer’s own home studio students, either live, by video, or a combination. The first two days of the course will be held online June 21 and 22 and in person June 23-28. Weekday times will be scheduled between 8:15 am and 4:00 pm EST, so teacher participants may observe live lessons at GWSI for this course.
  • Course must be offered over a minimum of 8 days. Minimum of 28 hours of class time (lecture and demonstration), to include a suggested 2 hours of guided observation and discussion of the Trainer’s own home studio students, either live, by video, or a combination. There are two participation options for this course. Option 1: Online only June 21-28. 2025. Weekday times will be scheduled between 8:15 am and 4:00 pm EST, so teacher participants may observe live lessons at GWSI. Option 2: Online on June 21,22 and 28. In person June 23-27. Weekday times will be scheduled between 8:15 am and 4:00 pm EST.
  • A minimum of 15 class hours of lecture/demonstration and 8 hours of
    supervised observation required over at least 5 days. Teacher participants have the option to participate in-person or online for this course.

    This course will be offered between 10AM-2PM EST in-person or online at GWSI June 23-27, 2025
  • A minimum of 15 class hours of lecture/demonstration and 8 hours of
    supervised observation required over at least 5 days. Teacher participants have the option to participate in-person or online for this course.

    Book 2 will be offered between 10AM-2PM EST in-person or online at GWSI June 23-27, 2025.
    Teaching Strategies will be offered online June 28-29, 2025 11AM-2:30EST, June 30 11AM-2PMEST.

    10 hours of Teaching Strategies is designed to support and guide teacher participants in how to become more effective in their teaching. Strategies will reinforce the positive aspects and offer constructive feedback on each participant’s lessons. Current SAA teacher development opportunities for feedback also include Consultations, Certificates of Achievement, SPA, and Practicum.

    Starting in January 2025, Teaching Strategies will be a prerequisite for Unit 3

    Unit 3 with Stacy Garner: A minimum of 15 class hours of lecture/demonstration and 8 hours of supervised observation required over at least 5 days. Teacher participants have the option to participate in-person or online for this course. Book 3 will be offered between online via Zoom between 11AM and 2PMEST July 7-11, 2025.

  • How to reach and engage students so they can learn. Not what to teach but how to teach, talk to, and engage students of different ages and interact effectively. Myths and misconceptions about teaching we just can’t seem to let go of. What is teaching at its’ deepest level?

    This is a 10 hour SAA approved supplemental course that will meet from June 23-27, 2025.
  • This is a 10 hour online course date TBD. This Course will focus on exploring creativity.
  • Select this Registration Type if you are requesting need based scholarship for the Greater Washington Suzuki Institute. A deposit is required and the balance of the registration fees will be calculated after the Scholarship has been awarded. The link to the scholarship application form will be manually sent after receipt of this registration.
  • Teachers who would like to observe student classes may register as an observer. Observers may attend parent lectures, recitals, student master classes & repertoire classes. Observers may not attend any Unit book classes or Enrichment classes.
