About SAGWA

The Suzuki Association of the Greater Washington Area (SAGWA) is a volunteer organization devoted to improving children’s lives through music education. Our mission is to inspire an appreciation for the untapped possibilities of children through promoting the understanding and use of the music teaching approach and educational philosophy of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki for the greater happiness of all children.

SAGWA sponsors musical events throughout the year, contributes scholarship support for deserving students, and provides a forum for parents and teachers to share ideas and learn from each other's experiences.
