On the Saturday, the workshop is mainly a play-in. Terry Durbin will do a pre-twinkle-twinkle group at 10:30 in the morning, followed by Book 1 and on to the upper books. The school also has a nice playground and there is an old mill down the road to explore. The leaves should be at their prime, as well. There are a number of motels in Winchester, and some have pools. Winchester is about 15 minutes away from the school, about 80 miles from D.C. and Powhatan is maybe a little closer. We are starting the play-ins at 10:30 to give those coming from the D.C. area time to get here without too much stress.
One teacher and parent says: Terry is good at getting them to think creatively. He makes the music tell stories, injects technique and generally keeps them spellbound. Those who have seen Terry know how much fun he is. I always tried to get my son together with him whenever he came to this area and can honestly say that he was probably one of his biggest inspirations over the years.
For check payments, please include separate checks for the workshop fee and materials fee payable as listed above or the material order may not be placed until separate payment is made. There will be no refunds given for workshop fees or materials ordered.
